Directors
Robert Bourne FCA
Chairman, Bourne Capital
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Robert started his career with Mark McCormack’s IMG. However, his entrepreneurial instincts soon led him to pursue his own business interests. Following a successful period in residential property development, he embarked on his first commercial property venture, co-founding Local London Group in the 1980’s and eventually taking it public in 1986 before selling it in 1989 for £120m.
Following the sale of LLG, Robert set up Bourne Capital in 1989 with a vision to build a new kind of property and leisure group that acquires adjoining properties to form Central London Estates. The Company actively manages the Estates and also creates anchor leisure businesses to generate positive cash flow and increase footfall, driving the long-term asset value of the estates.
Robert sits on the board of over fifty companies and charities in the UK and abroad, is a Director of the Criterion Theatre Trust, The Old Vic Theatre Trust, and an Associate Member of RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts). He is a former Director of the Richmond Theatre Trust and of RADA.
